The Chicken Coop
I am a paper crafter. I've been playing with paper, and cutting and pasting for many years now and I still just love it. I teach classes each month and would love to have you.
You can find me at MyRedHen.blogspot.com and on Pinterest
or email me at MyRedHen4@yahoo.com
I'd love to hear from you.
Every now and then I have some cards or little treats available for sale that may be seen here.
My blog also contains my personal posts. Ignore them if you like, but you may get a kick out of them. Maybe my girls will read them one day and get insights into the inner workings of an old woman's brain....Scary Thought!
There is a list of labels on the right side of the blog, so you can click there to go to only the posts that you are interested in. That will allow you to skip the personal posts and any items for sale if you wish. No matter which way you choose, I hope will enjoy my little blog and visit often.

My Gift To You
I get to choose one gift -- no price restrictions -- for any person I want. The caveat? I have to give it anonymously. I am to write about what gift I would give, and to whom?
I would give my anonymous gift to my friend Carol. She has been my best friend since Junior High which was a LOOONG time ago. Through all that time she has always been there for me and has never once wavered in her loyalty and love for me.
Since my gift has no price restriction, I would give her a big, giant, anonymous Visa card prepaid with not one, but two million dollars.
Hopefully that will be enough for her to be able to stop working and although I know that she will give much of it away and use most of it to do things for others, I really hope she will do some great things for herself.
Know what? Better make it four million.
Have fun my friend!!

Are you kidding me!
Hi All!
I feel like I haven't posted on my blog forever! Have you missed me? This is such a crazy time of year and in the middle of this my blog challenge sends me this prompt.....
"What's your next, most pressing deadline? Are you excited, stressed, or ambivalent about it?
What's the first thing you'd like to do once you're done with it?"
Are you kidding right now! My next most pressing deadline is Christmas you fool! It's almost here and I am not ready. I'm pretty sure that not every little thing I planned to have done will all actually get done, but I'm trying not to stress, do what I can, and hope everyone will be understanding if they have to wait a bit for part of their gift.
What would I like to do after the deadline is past? I would like to be able to take some time to do some of my own scrapbooking. I'm so behind! I would be thrilled to have a whole weekend where I do nothing for a class, but spend the whole time working on my very own stuff. There are some crops coming up in January. Maybe my stingy pocketbook will let loose of the purse strings and let me go play for a while. Work...Work...Work Complain...Complain...Complain

Pamper Me!
You're given unlimited funds to plan one day full of any and all luxuries you normally can't afford. Tell us about your extravagant day with as much detail as possible.
Okay--Here is why I need my friend Carol to be in charge.
Here's what I thought---
I would fly myself up to Washington and have a day of pampering with my dear friend Carol. We would go and get pedicures, manicures, facials, massages, and we'd get our hair and make up done. All by the best the area has to offer.
Then I thought--That won't work. I can't fly up to see Carol and only stay one day! Oh dear!
Then I talked to Carol on the phone and she informed me that I needed to do all those things and then go shopping and buy about a million dollars in gift cards to any and all places we might like to shop or that offers services I might need. That's a million dollars each--Not in total. Hey! They said unlimited funds!
Maybe I'll even buy me a house. Oh Heck! Two houses! One here in Reno and the other in Washington. Maybe we'll actually have to put off the pedicures and such till another day. I've got to much shopping to do!
Now my friend Carol knows how to take advantage of an opportunity! And I was going to get pedicures for two! Oh please!
P.S.---This picture makes me think of the heavy duty tools that may be necessary to get my poor old feet really in good shape. An old friend of mine used to tell me that she went after hers with an electric sander and I was appalled. Today, I think I'd try it if I didn't have neuropathy in my feet. If I did that as it stands, I may sand down to the bone before I woke up to what I was doing.

Couch Apology
Oh dear!
Today my crazy challenge is this:
If
your furniture, appliances, and other inanimate objects at home had
feelings and emotions, to which item would you owe the biggest apology?
This is a totally an easy one. It's my poor couch. No doubt about it.I found my poor old brown couch on Craig's List and it had already had a long life in someone else's home. Since coming to reside here it has aged further. I owe the poor thing a huge apology because it puts up with my rear end sitting on it with my legs pulled up under me every single night. The worst part is that I plant that rear end in the exact same spot each time and my poor couch (Let's call him Harold. Peek-A-Boo and I need a man around this house.) is not holding up too well in that area. In addition to the normal wear and tear, he pretty much serves as my dining room since I always seem to pick that same spot to sit and eat. Peek-A Boo sleeps her days away on him and he has often served as a bed for me as well. There he is in sickness and health putting up with my abuse. There is one spot that he uses to try and get back at me. It kind of pokes out and jabs me if I hit that special place. I guess I deserve it. I have already put two pillows under the cushions to try and help Hiram hold up under the pressure. I don't know how much more the poor old guy can take. I sneak a peek at Craig's list sometimes when he's not looking to try and find a replacement, but my pocketbook Mildred says a firm "NO" every time. I wish I could say that Harold would be put out to pasture if a new man were to come to reside here, but there is a fellow at church that really needs a couch, so poor Harold may be moving on to live in at least one more household. That's between you and me. Don't say anything to Harold. I'm afraid he may revolt and do something drastic.
Anyway Harold, You have my deepest apologies.
