The Chicken Coop

I am a paper crafter. I've been playing with paper, and cutting and pasting for many years now and I still just love it. I teach classes each month and would love to have you.
You can find me at MyRedHen.blogspot.com and on Pinterest
or email me at MyRedHen4@yahoo.com
I'd love to hear from you.
Every now and then I have some cards or little treats available for sale that may be seen here.
My blog also contains my personal posts. Ignore them if you like, but you may get a kick out of them. Maybe my girls will read them one day and get insights into the inner workings of an old woman's brain....Scary Thought!
There is a list of labels on the right side of the blog, so you can click there to go to only the posts that you are interested in. That will allow you to skip the personal posts and any items for sale if you wish. No matter which way you choose, I hope will enjoy my little blog and visit often.

Oh no!! Not again!!

Well, I said that last post would be the last Halloween one, but while working with the current Paper Pumpkin I looked down at the negative of the beautiful trees in our kit,  and what did I see? SPOOKY HALLOWEEN TREES!
So...I just had to make one more card.
I took the negative and mounted it in to black cardstock, added some pieces from last month's kit and this is what I came up with. Thought I'd share it in case any of you Paper Pumpkin people out there would want to put it together before you put those supplies away
Okay, now back to work on Christmas cards with lovely trees

Final Halloween

This my final post about things I've made for Halloween this year. I promise, but I just had to show you all this last box.
This is one of the boxes from the October Paper Pumpkin . I cut squares out of all four sides and added window sheets.
This picture is of the four candies inside.
They were originally spooky cute suckers, but I cut the sticks off so they could fit.
Then I popped them I the box peeking through the windows. There is a small sucker in the middle to stabilize them. Then I embellished my little box and WAA-LAA!!

I think they're pretty cute. Which is your favorite peeking creature?
I think mine is the ghost, but I really like the little pumpkin too....Hmmmm

Goodbye to Halloween

I finished off a bunch of Halloween cards yesterday now I have to put Halloween away. I've had a lot if fun playing with all my stuff this year, but I must move on. These are those I just finished yesterday, each one different than the other.
I'm willing to sell them for the bargain price if $3.50 each so I don't have to put them away until  next year.
It's not too late to send out a spooky                                Halloween hello!

See any you like?

I am holding a crop on November 16th and 17th. I was full but will be using a new location and have room for more. I'm attaching a copy of the original flyer here, but the location is wrong.
We will be meeting at Springhill Suites  at 490 Southmeadows Parkway.
 Crooked image. Sorry.

WINDOW IS CLOSING FAST!
NOT ROOM FOR MUCH MORE!

You are not confirmed to come unless I hear from you. Even if you've told me your interested.

Thank You for Being You

New Goal!
I'm trying to get better about remembering to send out cards. I make so many and don't often send any. I'm gonna work on that.
How about you?
I bet there is someone out there who would love to recieve a litte note from you.
I know that it is special for me when I recieve something in my mailbox besides bills and never ending junk mail.

I have this sweet set of notecards to offer for sale  Each one is 3 1/2 x 5 which is a mailable size  Three are done in a beautiful shade of green and two are pink. They each say "Thank You".
People need to hear that sometimes.
A little thank you for just being themselves.
The set is $8.50

....and by the way. Thank you just for being one of those who are checking out my blog. Especially those of you who post comments. I'm trying to really pay attention to my blog and make it fun and joyful for those who look at it

Thank you!

Creepy Coffins

I'm back!!
I tried and tried to find a spooky font for this page, but I didn't have any luck. I think I'm going to need some help adding fonts here. ☹
So, instead I'll just add this picture.

Today's the day to reveal my creepy coffins. These are $4.50 each. There is a skeleton in each one. He is sharing his coffin with 5 Hershey kisses and the outside is decorated with a sentiment, some bats and a spooky spider.
Quantities are limited

I finished my coffins today and am offering them for sale.
Inside each one has two bags of Sweet Tarts in the shapes of skulls and bones along with a snack size
skeleton Kit Kat bar.
They are only $3.95 each but quantities  are limited so the first to shriek for them gets them.

Card Buffet Make Up Class

Yesterday I taught the projects from the last Card Buffet to a few ladies that were unable to make the date before. We had a great time together but I forgot to take a picture of them all working. I've got to start remembering to do that so that I can post on this blog and share.
I'm including two pictures. One was taken completely by accident. My phone had a momentary mind of its own. The other  was taken by one of the ladies and has been shared with me to use

I promise I'll get better at remembering.

I'm Back!!

I'm blogging!!

One of the new things I'm trying is selling card kits. After teaching classes or just creating,  I often end up with extra materials left over. In the past I have been carefully putting them aside, planning to make them up and add to the cards I sell. Well, that hasn't  been working too well. My time has to be switched to designing and kitting the next class and those things I put aside to make get put aside kind of permanently. So my plan is to put all the supplies together and make card kits to sell. I'm trying it out on my blog and if it takes off a lot I may open an etsy shop.

The kits will include all the supplies to make the number of cards included (usually 4 or 5), and a close up picture will be emailed for you to follow along with any special instructions. Some will even have a short video. The first one to order each kit will receive a special surprise as well. All the embossing, stamping,  and die cutting will be predone and the pieces for each card will be placed an envelope to size so that once finished they will need only a stamp to be on their way to someone special.

Bone Appetit Alternatives

Some of my Paper Pumpkin ladies don't do Halloween or just don't need so many Halloween boxes, so I made a couple of mine into fall boxes as an alternative.
