The Chicken Coop

I am a paper crafter. I've been playing with paper, and cutting and pasting for many years now and I still just love it. I teach classes each month and would love to have you.
You can find me at MyRedHen.blogspot.com and on Pinterest
or email me at MyRedHen4@yahoo.com
I'd love to hear from you.
Every now and then I have some cards or little treats available for sale that may be seen here.
My blog also contains my personal posts. Ignore them if you like, but you may get a kick out of them. Maybe my girls will read them one day and get insights into the inner workings of an old woman's brain....Scary Thought!
There is a list of labels on the right side of the blog, so you can click there to go to only the posts that you are interested in. That will allow you to skip the personal posts and any items for sale if you wish. No matter which way you choose, I hope will enjoy my little blog and visit often.

PROUD---PROUD---PROUD!!

As I mentioned before, my Megan got a job as a first grade teacher at a private school in Las Vegas. She has been working hard to prepare her classroom and tonight was a Meet-n-Greet night to meet the parents of her students. She sent me pictures and I MUST share them. I am so very proud! What a great job she has done! The first day of school will be August 29th.
My baby is finally a teacher with her very own students and her very own classroom. Look out world, get ready for my baby girl! World's best teacher is on her way!

Dreams Do Come True

Just got the word this morning that a private school in Las Vegas has has hired my daughter Megan who is now on her way to becoming the world's best first grade teacher. She has actually been teaching since she had stuffed animals to turn into students and they will be cheering her on from wherever it is that long lost stuffed toys go. Her childhood friends became students as well, playing school--always school and Megan was ALWAYS the teacher. They will be thrilled to know that Megan has finally acquired a classroom of her very own and will be teaching real live students. As her mom, I am bursting with pride and will be cheering her on here from Reno. There are not words to say how happy I am for her. Is there anything better that watching your child's dreams come true. (Well yes--Better would be watching it happen from a much shorter distance, but that's about me--not her).

Megan--I am so proud of you and so happy for you.
You go girl!!!

Grandma Week

My grand daughter Matilda just left my house last night after spending five days with me. What a joy! For the majority of the time I threw away all the "need to dos" and the "should be doings" and just spent time with her being a grandma. We had so much fun! We went to the Sparks Marina (I had never been there. It was so nice!), we walked Virginia Lake and fed the ducks, we saw two movies at the theater as well as enjoying a movie at home that she got to pick each day, we went shopping at the thrift store, we went to church, we got slurpees and yogurt, and we played in my yard as well as at the park where she learned to swing all by herself. She was so excited and so proud! Best of all, I got lots and lots of cuddles, hugs ans kisses. Being a grandma rocks! I can't wait for them to go away again.

Morning Sunshine

The morning sun shines into my little yard and when I opened the door this morning to let Boo out, it looked so pretty and inviting that I just had to snap a picture for absolutely no reason at all.

Summertime Class

Finally a new class! I've been working on this little book for quite a while and finally finished it. I'm offering it as a class and including this great summertime layout. The little book is shaped like a sunshine and has 7 chipboard pages. A perfect place for some special summertime photos and memories. The class will be held in my home and is priced at $28. Sign ups for this class are VERY limited. It will be held on a Saturday in August that will be decided.

This class is full.

The Talk

Those of you who have followed my blog for a long time may remember how much I loved The Bonnie Hunt Show. In my own head I adopted everyone involved with the show as my family. I taped all of the shows and loved watching them, especially when I needed a chuckle or a smile. When it was announced that the show had been canceled, it was a blow, and when it came to an end I thought I would never find anything to fill the empty spot it left.
Well, it took a while, but I finally have found something to take its place. I began watching "The Talk" from its very start, and the more I watch it, the more I like it. They just have so much fun! I have now adopted all of them and in my fantasy mind, they are all great girlfriends of mine. I'm just sure I will get a call soon asking me to come and hang out with them. I absolutely adore Leah Remini and in my fantasy world we are best buds. I also love Sharon Osbourne and want to be a little saucy like she is. The interaction between them never fails to bring back the grins and giggles the Bonnie's crew used to provide for me. Never fear though Bonnie, I still love you too.
