The Chicken Coop

I am a paper crafter. I've been playing with paper, and cutting and pasting for many years now and I still just love it. I teach classes each month and would love to have you.
You can find me at MyRedHen.blogspot.com and on Pinterest
or email me at MyRedHen4@yahoo.com
I'd love to hear from you.
Every now and then I have some cards or little treats available for sale that may be seen here.
My blog also contains my personal posts. Ignore them if you like, but you may get a kick out of them. Maybe my girls will read them one day and get insights into the inner workings of an old woman's brain....Scary Thought!
There is a list of labels on the right side of the blog, so you can click there to go to only the posts that you are interested in. That will allow you to skip the personal posts and any items for sale if you wish. No matter which way you choose, I hope will enjoy my little blog and visit often.

The Talk

Those of you who have followed my blog for a long time may remember how much I loved The Bonnie Hunt Show. In my own head I adopted everyone involved with the show as my family. I taped all of the shows and loved watching them, especially when I needed a chuckle or a smile. When it was announced that the show had been canceled, it was a blow, and when it came to an end I thought I would never find anything to fill the empty spot it left.
Well, it took a while, but I finally have found something to take its place. I began watching "The Talk" from its very start, and the more I watch it, the more I like it. They just have so much fun! I have now adopted all of them and in my fantasy mind, they are all great girlfriends of mine. I'm just sure I will get a call soon asking me to come and hang out with them. I absolutely adore Leah Remini and in my fantasy world we are best buds. I also love Sharon Osbourne and want to be a little saucy like she is. The interaction between them never fails to bring back the grins and giggles the Bonnie's crew used to provide for me. Never fear though Bonnie, I still love you too.

Easter Bubbles

My grand daughter Matilda was out of town for Easter, but when she returned, the Easter Bunny had a filled basket waiting for her at my house. One of the things in the basket was a bottle of Crayola's new colored bubbles---pink ones. I tried to get a shot showing the bubbles, but they don't show up in the pictures. Trust me however, they were pink. I have pink blobs all over the cement in my yard to prove it. Oh well, it's washable and she was thrilled.

Project 365 Day 365 The End At Last

Hello Girls---Well, I have finally reached the end of my Project 365. Yes, I know I failed miserably, but I'm not hanging my head. I am choosing to look at the 258 posts I DID make through the year instead of the ones I didn't make. That's a lot of posts!

I spent the weekend scrapping with friends. I began by working on finishing up my upcoming Birthday Class, but then switched gears and allowed myself to work on my own pages. It was so much fun, and I got so much done! Yes, I know I should have been taking care of the "should do's", but it felt so good to work on my own pages! I think I needed it to fuel up my creative engine.

Anyway, today I put all the pages that I completed where they were supposed to be. I soon discovered that, except for a few finishing touches, I was close to having my album on Matilda's first year completed. So.....I allowed myself another day of working on my own things. I added a title here and some journaling there, and the album is DONE! It must be time for another grandbaby!

I began Project 365 to follow my last year in my 50's---That's right, tomorrow I turn 60. While I may not have done my Project 365 perfectly, I am thrilled to finish of the last day of my 50's by completing this very important album. No one really looks at my albums except me, so those of you who take classes from me may have to bear with me. I'm so excited about having it finished, that I am going to bring it with me to the next few classes. I just want to share it with someone!

Now...About this whole Project 365 thing. I may give it a try again sometime---but not this next year. I have something different and fun to do on my blog this year. You'll have to read the blog tomorrow to find out what it is. I'm going to try and do better with this idea.

Cross your fingers for me!

Project 365 Day 331 Birthday Class

I finally finished the second double page layout for the Birthday Class I plan on teaching very soon. This is the second double page layout to be completed in that class. I included a picture of the first in an earlier post. The class will include both layouts and at least one card. As soon as I decide how much more I'm going to include in the class I will be announcing it. Sometime very son----Keep watching!

Project 365 Day 323 Happy St. Pat's

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to everyone! My friend Tracey's favorite holiday is Saint Patrick's Day. I had pulled a picture of a topiary like this from a magazine a while back. I came across it and decided to make one for her. It turned out pretty cute and she really liked it. Perfect for her table when she serves that corned beef and cabbage!

Project 365 Day 318

Today, after dealing with a flat tire, I spent the day scrapping with friends at the Safe and Sober Crop which was held at The Grand Sierra. It was a wonderful event and I had a great time. It was just what I needed. I LOVE scrapping. I have the most incredible group of friends and I LOVE spending time with them. I spent most of the day working on my upcoming calendar class so for today I'll share a sneak peek of the cute little frog we will be making. Isn't he so cute! I like him so much that I think he needs a name. Here's a little contest for those of you who actually read this silly blog of mine. Post a comment here or shoot me an email with your name idea for my little guy. On Wednesday when I teach the class, I will announce the name I have chosen for him and that lucky person will win a little prize. May the LUCK of the IRISH be with you!
