The Chicken Coop
I am a paper crafter. I've been playing with paper, and cutting and pasting for many years now and I still just love it. I teach classes each month and would love to have you.
You can find me at MyRedHen.blogspot.com and on Pinterest
or email me at MyRedHen4@yahoo.com
I'd love to hear from you.
Every now and then I have some cards or little treats available for sale that may be seen here.
My blog also contains my personal posts. Ignore them if you like, but you may get a kick out of them. Maybe my girls will read them one day and get insights into the inner workings of an old woman's brain....Scary Thought!
There is a list of labels on the right side of the blog, so you can click there to go to only the posts that you are interested in. That will allow you to skip the personal posts and any items for sale if you wish. No matter which way you choose, I hope will enjoy my little blog and visit often.

The Little Mermaid
Okay, now this is cute! I had a Little Mermaid costume that I made for Megan when she was in Kindergarten. One of Matilda's favorite movies right now is The Little Mermaid, so Tracy borrowed the costume and bought a wig for her to where with it for Halloween this year. Here she is at her dress rehearsal. Couldn't you just hug her to death and smother her with kisses?
Pumpkins
Here is another peek at something I will be selling at the craft show this Saturday. What a cute little decoration and when the season is over, you can store it away as is---BUT, if space is a problem for you, you can pull the stem out, fold up the fabric forming the outside and store it away like that until next year when you will give it new insides. Because---Guess what's in the middle! A roll of toilet paper! I heard about this cute idea from on of my Calendar Girls and just had to try it! How fun! These are for sale for $6.50 each.

Rag Quilts Arrive at The Red Hen
Well Girls---We have finally finished cutting, sewing, clipping and washing our first rag quilts to be offered for sale. Hope you like them. Contact me directly if you would like to purchase one. I would also like to invite you to visit our new Etsy store--The Red Speckled Hen.
Baby Girl Zoo Animal Rag Quilt---$40
SOLD
This quilt is a hard one for me to sell. I just love the colors and the super cute animal print. If I had a baby grand daughter, I don't think I could give it up. It measures 36"X40" and is made entirely from cozy 100% cotton flannel. The front has a playful print with zoo animals in cheerful colors of pink, green, and yellow. The back is done in a coordinating shade of green stripe flannel and the inside layer is white.
Batter Up Rag Quilt---$60
Sold
This quilt measures about 70"X57" and is made entirely from cozy 100% cotton flannel. The front has two different baseball related prints. The back is done in a red flannel and the inside layer is navy blue.
We washed and dried each quilt start the great ragging process. These quilts should get softer and more snuggly with each washing, we have been using many of ours for years. When needed wash your quilt in cold or cool water and dry in the drier on a cool setting. The rag part of your quilt may become a bit squished during shipping. If this happens just follow the above washing instructions to fluff it back up.
All of our items are carefully made by us in our smoke free home.
That's the Way I Roll Rag Quilt--$50
This quilt measures 41"X47" and is made entirely from cozy 100% cotton flannel. On the front a baby buggy is printed along with the phrase "That's the way I roll". The back is done in a coordinating baby blue flannel and the inside layer is white flannel.

Disney Princess Rag Quilt---$40

This quilt measures approximately 48" X48 ". We have used cotton prints on the front with pictures of the Disney princesses. This quilt was made from some left over pieces, so it has more Cinderella on it than anything else, but the others are there. Pumpkin Patch
Today Matilda and I set off for Gardnerville to visit a pumpkin patch I had seen on-line. We're driving along and suddenly I hear a sweet little voice from my back seat saying....
Pumpkin Patch, Pumpkin Patch
Lookin' for a pumpkin in the pumpkin patch
Here is one, Round and Fat
Turns into a Jack-O-Lantern
Just Like That!
ADORABLE!!
